My call as a Pastor/Preacher/Servant, is one that demands my death in order for others to find God and live. Being called to minister at such an early age was not easy. Can you imagine being 9 years old with the responsibility of being a preacher? People and society have beliefs and pressures that God never gave us.

There were many days where I wanted to quit, turn around and give it all up. But I thank God that I didn't. It was through these difficult days that God formed His ministry and purpose in me. It was during these days of wrestling with God, Man, My Family, the Devil, and myself, that I learned the ministry's most valuable lessons. Now, after 41 years of preaching and 26 years of being a pastor, I almost understand my calling.

To love others, as God loves me, to serve others as God served me. Ministry is the special blend of love, sacrifice, family, purpose, and prayer. Is the journey easy? No, but it'd worth every step. I thank God for my Double Rock Baptist Church assignment. We are a loving, growing group of believers and God is showing us fresh and renewed favor every single day.
